Everywhere at the Same Time explores the relationship between personal agency, fate, and the endless possibilities created by every decision we make. Each choice creates new paths and alternate realities—possibilities that exist beyond the single reality we ultimately experience.
Through the personification of these alternate outcomes, the work considers the idea that every version of a choice exists simultaneously. Although we can only live through one path at a time, the potential of every other decision remains present. In this sense, we are all “everywhere at the same time”: defined not only by the choices we make, but also by the infinite choices we could have made.
Everywhere at the Same Time was awarded 1st Place in the 2021 Arizona Congressional Art Competition for Arizona’s 4th Congressional District. The work was selected from submissions by high school student artists through a competitive juried process and was selected for exhibition in the Cannon Tunnel of the United States Capitol.
